NEC 700.3(f) Code Change
In 2017, the NFPA’s National Electric Code® (NEC®) introduced provision 700.3(f), requiring emergency systems to have a connection for a temporary power source during maintenance. The most common solution is a Tap Box, which ensures seamless power transfer without modifying permanent wiring, crucial for critical facilities like hospitals and large assembly venues.
